Well that complicated things. It seems she was free from his most harmful thoughts. For now. “There is always a way, it’s simply a matter of finding the correct one.” And he intended to try for as long as it took to find the correct one.
“Please. Lose your hope. It’s useless. No matter what the hell you think up, you’re gonna be shot down by the fact that it’ll harm your sweet little girlfriend.” She sighed. This was becoming a waste of time. Stupid. Pointless. “You don’t harm me, I won’t harm you. Can’t say the same for little blue-eyes, but.. ah, well~”
Grinning maliciously he darted forward with blinding speed, his hand around her throat - just hard enough to get his point across. “Do not think you are safe from me. I am Death, and I always win.”
The sound of his name froze the blood in his veins. The way she said it only worsened matters as he looked at her with pure fury in his eyes. When he finally spoke, his voice was dangerously low, “You are going to wish I intended to kill you by the end of this fight. I swear it.”
“Oho, really? Kill me and you kill her. Plus, if you do anything too dire to me, she feels it too.” The other half had completely left that fact out. “So when I ripped that eye of hers right out of its socket, sure, I felt it. Searing pain for days. Christ..” She shuddered from the memory and shook her head, lifting the dagger to her lips and drawing her tongue against the flat side, trailing against the blood that had manifested after the wound. “Anyway. There’s no way you can win. It’s a lose/lose situation.. Kill, or harm. She gets it all.”

Ow. His shoulder burned with pain as the dagger buried itself up to the hilt in his flesh. I was careless, he thought as he jumped back and ripped the blade from his shoulder. The wound healed almost immediately and he studied her from a small distance. “Clearly this is going to be harder than I thought.”
The blade went right back into her hand before it even had the chance to hit the floor. “What’s the point in fighting me? Trying to bring me down? It’s not gonna change a damn thing, Kyrios.” The name slipped from her lips effortlessly, smoothly, condescending and perhaps even teasing all at the same time.

“I was afraid of that.” He finally opened his eyes and revealed that they had changed color once again, now an unnatural silver. Rushing forward, he manipulated her shadow and used it to hold her in place as he stabbed forward with his soul-blade. Careful to avoid any vital areas, however.
Her eyes were bright, almost like liquefied, darkened lavender. Right before his blade went forward, she bent her shadow back for herself and dodged at the last given second. Her fingertips twitched and she threw her dagger as soon as she was given the advantage from behind — aiming for the area where the joints of his shoulder and arm connected, crackling with an electrical surge.

Sighing once more he reached forward and condensed the souls into a blade, pure black in color. “Such a shame. In any case, I would hope that you don’t try to resist as it might make keeping you alive much more difficult.”
“Mm.. Resistance will always show itself, regardless of what you do.” Drawing the other dagger from her opposite side, the darker shadow twirled them both in between her fingers. Electricity crackled at her fingertips, lingering along the length of the daggers. “Game on, pretty boy. C’mon.”

Closing his red eyes and feeling the souls gather around him, he spoke calmly and without any form of emotion, “I don’t suppose you could explain what it is you want, could you?”
The souls. Her eyes sparked up again and she took a slow step forward. She had her share already — millions and millions of souls she’d captured and ensnared. But more.. More.. Could it hurt? They were her energy. A necessity. “That’s for me to know, and for you to stay out of.”
Sighing once more he reached forward and condensed the souls into a blade, pure black in color. “Such a shame. In any case, I would hope that you don’t try to resist as it might make keeping you alive much more difficult.”
Sighing, he began to gather his strength. “I suppose you are correct. Though I have no idea how you managed to pull of such a feat. It would be impressive were it not so devastating.” He tried and failed to keep a measure of respect out of his voice.
“Let’s just say.. research and plenty of it works wonders. Helps you.. get closer to what you want.” The wide-stretched grin simmered down into a simple, yet devious smile. Hidden intention.
Closing his red eyes and feeling the souls gather around him, he spoke calmly and without any form of emotion, “I don’t suppose you could explain what it is you want, could you?”
The clenching on a fist was the only outward indication of the rage he felt other than the bloodred hue creeping into his eyes. “I’ve had the time, though I never would have guessed you were competent enough to kill millions so quickly.”
“Oh, I have my ways.” In the blink of an eye, one of her two daggers was in her hand, switching in between her fingers. One, two, three, four. And back again. “As if anyone else would’ve had the ability. Perhaps one.. but even he doesn’t have that kind of knowledge.”
Sighing, he began to gather his strength. “I suppose you are correct. Though I have no idea how you managed to pull of such a feat. It would be impressive were it not so devastating.” He tried and failed to keep a measure of respect out of his voice.
He didn’t like the sound of that at all. “Remi, please don’t give me reason to harm you. I don’t want to risk killing you, and Rax as well.” Though he had a sinking feeling that she already had but hadn’t gotten around to telling him yet.
“Please. You’re long overdue. I could give you a reason.. but you already know what’s been going on, haven’t you?” A manic grin spread clean across her face, glossed lips stretching as stark white teeth gleamed in the dim light. “The millions of people you’ve had to take care of.. heh.. did you even have a second thought as to what it actually was?”
